URL parser and cleaner

Show the protocol, host, path, query, and fragment of one URL. A replacement query can take the place of the original, and a fixed list of tracking parameters can be removed.

It runs in your browser. What you enter stays on this device.

An HTTP or HTTPS address. It is not opened.

Optional. Replaces the query string. Leave it empty to keep the query from the URL.

Off removes utm_*, gclid, fbclid, and the other names listed on this page.

Examples

Load a sample into the form, then run it.

How to use it

  1. 1Paste a URL.
  2. 2Leave the replacement query empty, or type the query you want instead.
  3. 3Leave Keep tracking parameters off to strip the listed names.
  4. 4Choose Parse and copy the cleaned URL.

When it helps

  • Read a long query before editing one value.
  • Drop campaign parameters before sharing a link again.
  • Replace a query string without rebuilding the rest of the address.

Good to know

  • The address is not opened.
  • Tracking removal covers a fixed list, including names that start with utm_. Other parameters stay.
  • The fragment is kept.
  • A username or password in the URL is refused.
