QR code generator

Turn text or a URL into a QR code, preview it, and download a PNG or SVG. Generation stays in this browser, and the picture keeps a quiet zone so a phone camera can scan it.

It runs in your browser. What you enter stays on this device.

The text is encoded on this device. It is not uploaded with the image.

The image size in pixels, including a quiet zone around the code.

L holds the most text. H is the most resistant to damage and holds the least.

Dark modules scan most reliably.

A light background scans most reliably.

Examples

Load a sample into the form, then run it.

How to use it

  1. 1Enter the text or URL.
  2. 2Choose the size, error correction, and colors.
  3. 3Choose Generate and check the preview.
  4. 4Download PNG or SVG. If the colors are hard to scan, the page keeps the warning and holds the download until you confirm. Clear empties the form.

When it helps

  • Make a code for a link you want someone to open on a phone.
  • Encode a short note that should be scanned rather than retyped.
  • Download an SVG when you need a sharp code in a document.

Good to know

  • The amount of text depends on the error correction level. A longer text needs level L, or it needs to be shorter.
  • Unicode is encoded as UTF-8. A scanner that expects a different encoding may show unexpected characters.
  • Low contrast, or a light code on a dark background, is allowed but may not scan. The warning stays on the result, and PNG or SVG download waits until you confirm that combination.
  • The quiet zone is four modules. Do not crop it before printing.
  • The input stays under 8 KB, and the practical QR limit is lower.

Questions

Is the text or image uploaded?

No. The code is created in this browser. The text and the image are not sent to a server or included in analytics.

Which error correction should I use?

M is a good default. Choose H when the printed code might be damaged. Choose L when the text does not fit at a higher level.
