JSON CSV converter

Turn a JSON array or object into CSV, or a CSV table into a JSON array. Nested objects can be flattened or kept as JSON text in one cell.

It runs in your browser. What you enter stays on this device.

The original stays in this box. Conversion runs in this browser.

Off flattens nested objects into dotted column names, such as address.city.

Examples

Load a sample into the form, then run it.

How to use it

  1. 1Paste JSON or CSV.
  2. 2Choose the direction and the delimiter.
  3. 3Leave Keep nested objects as JSON off to flatten objects into dotted names.
  4. 4Choose Convert, then copy or download the result.

When it helps

  • Open a JSON array in a spreadsheet.
  • Turn an exported CSV back into JSON.
  • Flatten one level of nested fields into columns.

Good to know

  • The input stays under 500 KB.
  • CSV conversion uses the first row as headers.
  • A cell that starts with =, +, -, or @ is prefixed with a quote so a spreadsheet does not treat it as a formula.
  • JSON numbers are JavaScript numbers. A very long integer can lose precision.
  • Nothing is uploaded.

Questions
