Email header analyzer
Read Authentication-Results, Received-SPF, DKIM-Signature, and Received lines from headers you paste. The results are what the header says. They are not a new check.
It runs in your browser. What you enter stays on this device.
How to use it
- 1Copy the raw headers from the message, not the body.
- 2Paste them into the box.
- 3Choose Explain.
- 4Read the reported SPF, DKIM, and DMARC results and the Received path.
When it helps
- See why a receiver said SPF or DKIM passed or failed.
- Find the selector and domain on a DKIM-Signature.
- Read the last hop from the first Received line.
Good to know
- Briefed does not verify a signature, query DNS, or send mail.
- A reported pass is a claim in the header, not a result this page produced.
- A From address is not proof that a mailbox exists.
- Only the first eight Received lines are shown.
Questions
Are the headers uploaded?
No. The explanation runs in this browser.
Which Received line is the latest hop?
The first Received line. Each server adds its line above the ones already there.
